Jane Goodall's Wild Notebook
Jane Goodall and the Chimpanzee Dream
In this heartwarming childhood adventure set in seaside Bournemouth, a young Jane Goodall meets her new friend Maya, who invites her to explore her vibrant backyard. Armed with a toy chimpanzee named Jubilee, Jane follows tiny clues among flowers, insects, and birds as she learns the value of patient observation. Together they solve the mystery of how a hen lays an egg, filling their notebooks with sketches and discoveries. Over tea and laughter, Jane realizes that her dream of studying animals in far-off Africa begins right here, with courage, curiosity, and wonder. A warm homecoming and the promise of future journeys leave both girls—and young readers—ready to embark on their own adventures.
Jane Goodall and the Roots of Hope
Years after her time at Gombe, Dr. Jane Goodall visits Maya’s school to share stories of conservation and inspire a new generation. Maya and her classmates feel small against the challenge of saving the planet—until Jane shows them that hope begins with action, no matter how tiny. With Jane’s guidance, Maya leads her friends to transform a neglected schoolyard corner, planting native flowers, a young tree, and a simple water station for thirsty animals. As neighbors and classmates join in, the barren patch bursts into a buzzing garden of life. Through every seed sown, Maya learns that hope is something people practice together.
